Dr. Samantha Marie Avera is an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner at OSMS.

She completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing at Southeastern Louisiana University and then went on to earn her Masters of Science degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama where she graduated with a dual certification in family and acute care nursing. She continued her education and graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
Samantha’s nursing experience started in 2015 consisting of surgical/neuro/trauma intensive care, emergency care, urgent care, primary care, and women’s health.
After obtaining her practitioner degree, she was immediately hired and
extensively trained at Baptist Memorial Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit in Columbus, MS where she battled the COVID-19 pandemic. After being away from home for far too long, she moved back to LA and has been working in the Intensive Care Unit at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA. You can take the girl out of Louisiana, but you can’t take Louisiana out of the girl.
She began her aesthetics career by obtaining her certificate through the Aesthetic Medical Educators Training in New Orleans, LA and then went on to train in Ocean Springs, MS. She swears that the first time she injected a set of lips was when she knew she wanted to T H R I V E in aesthetics for the rest of her career. While her heart was in aesthetics, she truly believed that life just simply had other plans until now.
She is board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She is certified through AMET and trained in neurotoxin and dermal filler injections and continues to train under Lead Injector Jenna Behlar, NP to master her craft. She continues to pursue education and training to learn the latest and greatest in aesthetic techniques and procedures.
Samantha really is a “girls girl.” She will talk to a complete stranger like they have been best friends for years. She truly strives to make everyone around her feel beautiful, important, and loved. She believes in enhancing one’s natural beauty and truly getting to know her patients. She is so excited to join the team at OSMS and cannot wait to meet everyone while she is on this new and exciting journey in her life and career.
